-30 shots. I thought as the game went o Antworten

(SportsNetwork.com) - After losing the final two games of a homestand, the Ottawa Senators will try to get back on track when they kick off a three-game tour of Western Canada with tonights clash against the Vancouver Canucks. You can catch all the action on TSN5 at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt and follow along on TSN Radio 1200 in Ottawa and TSN Radio 1040 in Vancouver. The Senators began their recent four-game stay at Canadian Tire Centre with wins over Detroit and Minnesota before losing two straight on home ice over the weekend. Ottawa earned a point in Saturdays shootout loss to Winnipeg, but lost a 5-3 regulation decision the following night versus rival Toronto. The Senators held the lead three times in the early going on Sunday, with their last edge coming after Mark Stone made it a 3-2 game early in the second period. Toronto, however, scored three unanswered goals to skate away with the win in a game that was originally scheduled for Oct. 22. The original game date was postponed when Cpl. Nathan Cirillo was tragically shot and killed while standing guard at the National War Memorial on Parliament Hill. The second of Torontos three unanswered tallies came short-handed when Mike Santorelli notched the game-winner at 10:53 of the second period. Mike Hoffman and Kyle Turris joined Stone as the goal-scorers for Ottawa, while Robin Lehner was saddled with the loss after saving only 25-of-30 shots. I thought as the game went on, their competition level was raised and ours got lower, Senators coach Paul MacLean said. Ottawa, which will visit Edmonton on Thursday before completing its road trip Saturday in Calgary, is 3-3-0 as the visiting team this season. The Senators are facing the Canucks for the first time since winning last seasons Heritage Classic at BC Place. The outdoor game was actually played under a roof as the retractable dome was closed due to inclement weather in Vancouver. Ottawas 4-2 win at BC Place halted a six-game skid in this series, but Vancouver has won 10 of the past 12 encounters with the Sens. The Canucks recently ended a four-game road trip on a positive note, beating the Anaheim Ducks in a shootout to go 3-1-0 on the swing. It was Vancouvers seventh victory in the last nine games. Vancouver notched a 2-1 decision Sunday in Anaheim with Nick Bonino scoring the lone goal of the shootout to beat his former team. Bonino, who was acquired by the Canucks from the Ducks in the offseason for prized forward Ryan Kesler, moved the puck from his forehand to his backhand before slipping the puck through the pads of Frederik Andersen. Kesler, the third and final shooter for Anaheim, rang a shot off the post to seal the outcome. It doesnt get much better than that, getting the win in a shootout was something, said Bonino. Alexandre Burrows scored a goal in regulation, while Eddie Lack made 28 saves and stopped all three Ducks in the shootout. The Canucks are playing two straight and five of their next six games on home ice, where they are 4-2-0 this season. Forwards Derek Dorsett (undisclosed) and Radim Vrbata (lower body) and defenseman Luca Sbisa (undisclosed) are questionable for tonights game after sitting out Sunday with injuries. The Montreal Canadiens goaltender has won three of his four games since returning from a lower-body injury that kept him out from the end of the Olympic break until March 15.MALMO, SWEDEN – While sitting in the stands at the Malmo Isstadion on Boxing Day serving the second game of a four-game suspension, Griffin Reinhart was surprised to hear the voice of Zach Fucale. Team Canadas backup goalie at the time was on the bench and, per usual, running his mouth. What was he saying? "I dont even know," said Reinhart, the big Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman, "just kind of gibberish." "Maybe he just didnt understand me," said Fucale with a grin. The Halifax Mooseheads goalie talks a good game. Literally. "I like to just keep a little play-by-play of the game by myself," said the 18-year-old Montreal Canadiens prospect. "I talk a lot and encourage everyone as well." WATCH: Sportscentre story on Fucales special night and why his teammates say hes different than most goalies Hes been doing it so long he cant remember when he started. It may seem strange, but it seems to be working. Fucales trophy case already includes a Memorial Cup championship won in May and an Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament title in 2012. In short tournaments like those, being vocal goes a long way in terms of helping defencemen adjust to playing in front of a new goalie as well as with a new partner. "We dont play with each other all year long so its important we talk a lot and communicate as much as we can," Fucale notes. "Theres not a detail you can really miss in this type of tournament so if we talk a lot well be on the same page." Fucale started the 2014 World Junior Hockey Championship as Jake Patersons understudy, but parlayed a steady 19-save performance against Slovakia on Monday into another start the next night against the Americans. With first place on the line, Fucale held the fort during another slow start by his teammates, turning aside all 13 first-period shots faced. He stoned Connor Carrick on a breakaway late in the third to preserve what ended up as a 3-2 victory.dddddddddddd. During the third period and also post-game the thousands of fans in attendance chanted Fucales name. WATCH: Post2Post: Jamie McLennan breaks down Fucales seven "10-bell saves" v USA When his teammates and even head coach Brent Sutter talk about Fucale the word "swagger" comes up quite a bit. "Hes always cocky," said forward Charles Hudon. "Not cocky like he wants to show-up everyone, but cocky for himself. I played with him in peewee and bantam (in Boisbriand, Que.) and he had the same swagger." "Hes all about confidence and thats what you need," said Val-dOr forward Anthony Mantha, who is tied for the tournament lead with 10 points. Goalies will often be in their own world and keep to themselves in the dressing room. Fucale, though, bucks the trend. "Hes a confident guy and a loud guy," said Team Canada captain Scott Laughton. "Ive never seen a goalie so loud in the room. Hes been very good for us staying positive when he wasnt playing. In the room, hes one of the more vocal guys. Ive never seen that before from a goalie. Usually theyre pretty quiet, but its just like hes one of the guys." "Around the room, you see a lot of goalies are pretty weird and they have certain routines," sai
